This lot is generally related to a scripting technique to update video game objects. Disclosed is a technique to dynamically update a gaming object based on scripting commands and control the behavior of self-animating objects such as a camera position. Disclosed is a simulation scripting system for receiving a user input through its text editor for controlling an object in a simulation and generates a signal which indicates that the command is updated in a particular line of text. The system identifies the object and applies the changed command at an increment of time and displays the changed object in a graphical display. The technology may be implemented in interactive games, 3D animation systems, video games, etc.
