This lot is generally related to a technique to provide a platform-independent interface for generating virtualized multi-service hardware systems in a cloud environment to ensure that security measures are effectively implemented across multiple instances, reducing vulnerabilities and minimizing risks using an infrastructure as a service (IaaS) multi-function compute device. Also disclosed are techniques to integrate enterprise monitoring and operation toolsets, audit capabilities, stateful management and compliance tools and services, and automation toolsets for the purpose of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CICD). The system creates an infrastructure as code (IaC) script to harden the IaC build file image during a build of an instance of the virtualized operating system. Further disclosed are techniques to launch the instance of the virtualized operating system using the IaC scripts and purpose-built IaC build file images. The technology may be implemented in virtualized cloud systems, virtualized hardware and infrastructure applications, virtualized operating systems, etc.
