Efficient DCI Transmission and Reception with Variable and Fixed Length Fields in Wireless Networks (DEAL 394)

This lot is generally related to wireless communication. Techniques are disclosed for transmission and reception of downlink control information (DCI) with variable and fixed length fields so that variable length DCI formats can be accommodated. Disclosed is a user equipment (UE) consisting of a transmitter for transmission of a capability identifier (ID) related to the UE to a next generation node. The UE receives multi format first and second downlink control information (DCI) and provides the UE with various control information. Also disclosed is that the second format has less bits than the first format and has fixed length and variable length fields. Further disclosed is that the fixed length fields identify DCI format and the variable length fields identify resources and other information for transmitting and receiving data on a shared channel. The technology may be implemented in wireless communication systems, wireless LAN systems, uplink collision-handling systems, etc.
