Advanced Database System for Storing and Retrieving Multimedia Objects via Cognitive Elements (DEAL 332)

This patent is generally related to database management. Disclosed is a technique to store documents in a computer storage and allow fast and effective retrieval of information regardless of the type of document such as files, graphics, pictures or video. Disclosed is a technique to create an electronic database repository for storing objects such as text files, pictures, sound files, etc. Disclosed is a technique to search non-hierarchical database consisting multiple objects, each having cognitive properties by selecting the cognitive properties attribute value and defining a number of desired cognitive elements used to access the non-hierarchical database. The system retrieves the objects corresponding to the defined cognitive elements and creates a tree structure. The tree structure has a number of folders and subfolders which are related to the defined cognitive elements. Also disclosed are techniques to refine the tree structure by filtering selected cognitive elements and assembling the received one or more objects to the folders and subfolders for display. The technology may be implemented in document management system, enterprise content management, file management system, data management system, etc.
