Camera-Based Distance Detection for Augmented and Virtual Reality Applications (DEAL 393)

This lot is generally related to cameras. Techniques are disclosed to determine distance of an object without using any complex hardware and assist users when VR/AR devices are used. The technique receives an image of an object with an associated label, determines a label dimension and calculates a distance between the label and the camera. The technique further announces the label distance through an output device. The technology may be implemented in cameras, image capture devices, VR headsets, AR devices, head mounted displays, smart phones, camera software, etc.
