User-Defined Touch Interface for Secure Function Enablement on Electronic Devices (DEAL 333)
This lot is generally related to a user interface to provide an enhanced security for electronic devices. Techniques are disclosed to enable a security protocol for electronic devices which allows a user complete freedom in defining the functionality of the electronic devices. Disclosed is a user interface which allows a user to define an enablement protocol for a function of an electronic device consisting of a user-defined gesture for touch input by displaying two visual indicators on a touch-sensitive area of a display screen and possible different gestures. The gesture includes a continuous touch which terminates at a point of the display for the enablement protocol. Also disclosed are techniques to retain the enablement protocol of the function and display wo visual indicators on the touch-sensitive area of the display screen. Further disclosed are techniques to receive a gesture for touch input which reproduces the user defined gesture which includes continuous touch with one of the two visual indicators. The technology may be implemented in touch user interface, mobile devices, touch display devices, gesture based security system, etc.
