This lot is generally related to techniques related to sharing of an autonomous vehicle, parking system for an autonomous vehicle etc. Disclosed is an autonomous vehicle which receives a request from a mobile device to perform a task such as picking a user from a designated location and dropping off at a selected destination. The system of the vehicle determines whether the task conflicts with previously scheduled tasks and add a new task if the task does not conflict. The system sends a message to the user of a mobile device with a previously scheduled task when the task conflicts and request the user to modify a time to accommodate the user. A patent in the lot discloses a technique to send an instruction to an autonomous vehicle to park autonomously and then return to a preselected location. Also disclosed is a technique to receive a request to use an autonomous vehicle as a taxi service. The taxi service request may have a pickup location, a drop-off location, a selected pickup time and other details such as the number of passengers to ride in the autonomous vehicle or type of vehicle.
