Adaptive Navigation and Contextual Media Intelligence (DEAL 680)
Various technologies such as a navigational lane guidance system that dynamically shows all available freeway lanes, determines contextual information extracted from received visual media to increase a viewer’s understanding of the context of the visual media, and dynamically adjusts map label density and placement based on road importance. Also disclosed to provide navigational lane guidance by identifying all available lanes and dynamically generating a scalable, variable-width lane image using TrueType font characters. A few patents in the portfolio disclose techniques for advanced contextual analysis of visual media by first extracting key visual features through recognition and querying multiple information sources to gather related data. Further disclosed are techniques to improve map readability by dynamically adjusting the number of road labels shown on a navigation display based on the importance of the current road and the next road after an upcoming maneuver. The technology may be implemented in automotive navigation systems, head-up displays (HUDs), navigation applications, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), fleet navigation platforms, video analytics systems, media search systems, forensic analysis systems, location-based services, in-vehicle navigation systems, etc.
