High-Performance Video Quality Assessment (DEAL 656)

This patent is generally related to video services. Disclosed is a technique to quickly evaluate the quality of a transmitted video stream with the highest possible performance. The system extracts a set of evaluation parameters, calculates a preliminary video quality score, and extracts another set of evaluation parameters. The system further calculates the final video quality score by adjusting the preliminary quality score using the second set of parameters. The technology may be implemented in multimedia services, streaming applications, digital/satellite TV services, network transmitters, receivers, transceivers, etc.
