IP3 2025 – Image Contrast Enhancement (Lot 16617)

This lot is generally related to a technique to enhance image contrast by adjusting an illumination level of a light source based on thresholds to automatically improve image contrast in real time and reduce the need for manual brightness or contrast adjustment. Disclosed is a device for enhancing image contrast consisting of a microprocessor that adjusts the illumination level of a light source based on preset brightness thresholds. Also disclosed is if the image brightness is below a defined black threshold, the system reduces the light source’s illumination to deepen dark areas. Further disclosed is that if the brightness of the image exceeds a white threshold, the system increases illumination to brighten light areas to dynamically adjust the overall contrast and visual clarity of the image. The technology may be implemented in digital cameras, smartphones, medical imaging devices, surveillance systems, automotive driver-assistance systems (ADAS), etc.
